Patience Is A Virtue

Well, that’s what they say anyway. And although I like to think I have a lot of it…not sure if I have the patience that is required to create this artwork.
My hat goes off to you Lily Melba!

This would make a wonderful print for scrapbooking !
I likes it!

Tweet & ReTweet

Twitter is currently beta testing a new way for users to see who’s talking about their tweets. If you were lucky enough to be chosen (or unlucky enough…depending on if you view this as a benefit) this new program could benefit you tremendously!

When you retweet a follower, your post will be seen across your tweeter network.

They’re headlining the new service as “Retweet to Share Tweets”, which is the basic ethic underlying the retweet system in which one Twitter user duplicates someone else’s tweet and adds “RT @othertwitter” to the front of the retweet so that these special tweets gain added value for @othertwitter.

This is what Twitter is saying about their new program:

“We’re still working out the final details, but let’s say you follow @2020science, @sciencebase (that’s me), and @DrRemy but you don’t follow @biz. However, I do follow @biz and his recent breakfast choice announcement was so momentous that I retweeted it to all my followers.

You’d see @ev’s tweet on your timeline even though you don’t follow him because you follow me and I really wanted you to have the information that I have. (Star, reply, and retweet options would only show up when you hover over a row on Twitter.com which is why you don’t see them all the time.) But, if you find these retweets annoying, you’d be able to turn them off easily.”

I was chosen to be a beta tester for this new program, and so far I like it! It allows for you to tweet even though you don’t follow the person that I retweeted, because you follow me and I really wanted you to have the information that I have. (The star, reply, and retweet options only show up when you hover over a row on Twitter.com which is why you won’t see them all the time.) Also, if you find my retweets annoying, then you’ll be able to turn them off.

The Ant’s Are Coming To A Neighborhood Near You!

Do you worry about cyber attacks? Well, who doesn’t!
It sure hits home when you discover that your computer has crashed because of internet worms.

Well, researchers are looking for ways for you to be able to better protect your computer by letting the ants loose (virtual of course).

At present they are focusing on big brother files and large corporations.
As these virtual ants move about the network, they leave digital trails modeled after the scent trails ants in nature use to guide other ants. Each time a digital ant identifies some evidence, it is programmed to leave behind a stronger scent. Stronger scent trails attract more ants, producing the swarm that marks a potential computer infection.

So look for an ant farm coming to your neighborhood soon! And unlike the unwelcome kind..these cyber ants will be welcomed with open arms!
